WHICH DIRECTION, LORD?
I asked myself this question during the past several months, wondering what god wants me to do re: encouragement4you. His answer was to re-establish this blog. He knows my passion is to spiritually encourage others, especially those who are experiencing difficult circumstances. Seeking to have more feedback and interaction I tried other avenues yet they just didn't "feel right." At the same time, folks were telling me that they miss this blog. It just wasn't the same. Sooo, I believe He wants me to continue this blog. I pray many will join in.
So, here it is:
Have you ever stood at the edge of a situation and asked, “Which direction, Lord?” During those times, it may feel as though there is a vast, open ocean ahead of us, with no visible compass to guide us. Other times, there are so many possibilities that choosing the right one seems extremely daunting. Most of us have stood on this shore more than once in our lifetimes. It can become confusing....many good suggestions and options drift by, yet they just don’t “feel right.”
This is when we need to focus on Christ, and ask for the Holy Spirit’s Divine Guidance. We need to seek wisdom from His Holy Word for He is the One who designed and created us. HIS Purpose must supersede our own and caution must guard us from seeking guidance through any other source which does not consult His Word first and foremost.
God loves us soooo much. We need to keep our hearts for Him and Him alone, not getting side-tracked by fine sounding wisdom which is not rooted in Him. He will show us which direction to take, and we can rest secure knowing that we will not stand very long on the shore of uncertainty, for our God is a personal God and a living God who rescues us from that shore and safely guides us to the place HE wants us to be.
"The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living. Reverence for the LORD is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the LORD are true, each one is fair. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them." Psalm 19: 7-11 [NLT]......"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, o LORD, my rock and my redeemer." Psalm 19: 14 [NLT]
